Project Construction Superintendent

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects supporting the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone.
• Permanent Full Time | $136,141 Plus 16.5% super and Fortnightly RDO
• We are open to multiple locations: Singleton, Muswellbrook, Beresfield or Newcastle

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll join the Transmission Development and Growth group, a team leading the delivery of the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (HCC REZ) - the most significant enhancement to Ausgrid’s network in over 25 years. This transformative initiative will enable the transfer of 1 gigawatt of renewable energy by 2028, supporting a reliable and sustainable energy future for the region.

The program includes:

• Upgrading 85km of existing sub-transmission power lines
• Building two new substations
• Multiple brownfield substation augmentations
• Installing 18km of new underground fibre optic communications cable

As a Project Construction Superintendent, you’ll be play a key role in supporting the project team in delivery of this critical infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Management and oversight of construction activities.

• Responsible for site management, record keeping, induction of workers/visitors and site emergency response procedures.
• Utilise relevant systems and data sources to support work and produce reports as required.
• Undertake relevant audits and inspections, and check and/or complete compliance based documentation

• Managing components of work that support project delivery
• Preparing project documentation including management plans, site records, quality and safety documentation, reports, and programs.
• Coordinating safe network access
• Coordinating resources, plant, equipment, and contracted services to meet project requirements.
• Building effective stakeholder relationships, including contractors, internal teams, landowners, councils, and external bodies.

What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

• Demonstrated experience in the supervision of field work in a heavy industry environment.
• Extensive experience in construction and maintenance practices relevant to the electricity distribution industry.
• Electrical Trade Certificate (or equivalent).
• Class C Drivers Licence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Proficient to read and interpret system diagrams, schematic diagrams, maps, project schedules and plans and to prepare diagrams/sketches.
• Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices, environmental practices, network standards and codes of practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees within own or other work group.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks / activities and prioritise activities.
• Demonstrated experience liaising with customers, including the resolution of complaints / issues.
• Intermediate computer skills with experience in Microsoft and Apple applications.
• Demonstrated capability to complete both written and system based documentation.
• Willingness to provide a regular presence on site throughout the Hunter region.

Desirable:

• Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety.
• Level 4 Project Management.
• First Aider.
