As the Sales & Account Manager, you’ll play a key part in growing and maintaining PLUS ES’ commercial footprint across a portfolio of energy-sector customers. You will balance high‑quality relationship management with proactive business development, with a strong focus on identifying expansion opportunities and driving commercial outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Grow revenue by identifying and converting opportunities across metering, data, and emerging PLUS ES products.
- Lead commercial conversations, positioning additional PLUS ES products and services to broaden engagement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers – managing enquiries, issues, and day to day support, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and confident in service delivery.
- Lead key account management, including account plans, KPI delivery, monthly performance reports and achieving annual growth targets.
- Strengthen customer relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and ongoing account management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to solve customer challenges and develop tailored solutions.
- Contribute to team capability by sharing insights, supporting peers, and participating in continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with PLUS ES Commercial on tenders, proposals, and new contract opportunities.
- Turn customer insights into opportunities, using a strong understanding of their needs and priorities.
- Support customer satisfaction initiatives, including NPS and CSAT surveys.
- Contribute to team capability by sharing insights, supporting peers, and participating in continuous improvement.
What you bring to the role
You’ll thrive in this role if you are a commercially minded, opportunity‑driven relationship builder who can balance growth with exceptional customer care. We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of business development strength, industry understanding, and a proactive, entrepreneurial approach.
To be successful, you will have:
- Strong business development capability by being proactive, commercially savvy, motivated by ambitious targets, and confident leading growth conversations.
- Proven experience in business development or key account management, ideally within the National Electricity Market (NEM) or contestable/smart metering, with an understanding of market drivers, regulations, and emerging opportunities.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills, with the ability to maintain customer satisfaction, troubleshoot issues, and build trust with key stakeholders.
- Confident in presenting, leading meetings, writing customer communications, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability, able to interpret performance data, resolve complex issues, and make informed commercial decisions.
- A collaborative mindset, able to work closely with internal teams (operations, I&I, commercial) and external partners (e.g., EDMI, FSPs, ASPs).
- Strong digital capability, including experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, Power BI, Salesforce, SAP/Storm, and metering systems (MBS/IEE).
