Your new role
Are you ready to be the driving force behind a transformative new venture in the water sector?
PLUS ES has expanded its metering capabilities into the water industry to help utilities, councils, and commercial customers improve efficiency, enhance sustainability, and meet evolving regulatory demands. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to further support our ambitions.
You’ll be working at the forefront of smart infrastructure and digital transformation, helping to define the future of water metering in Australia.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Engage with customers, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to co-create value-driven solutions.
- Shape strategic plans, prepare RFP and tender responses, and support the commercialisation of our water metering offering.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align innovation, technology, and customer needs into a clear go-to-market strategy.
- Represent PLUS ES in the market as a trusted thought leader and partner in water metering innovation.

We’re looking for a strategic sales leader, ready to break new ground in the water sector. You will be a proactive, results-driven Business Development Manager who thrives on creating opportunities, constantly scanning the market for emerging trends, customer pain points, and commercial openings.
To be successful, you will be curious, strategic, and confident in challenging the status quo to uncover new ways to deliver value. With a blend of strong sales instincts, technical understanding, and commercial acumen, you’ll translate customer needs into actionable solutions and build trusted partnerships that stand the test of time. Most importantly, you’ll take ownership of outcomes, move with urgency, and play a central role in shaping the future of PLUS ES’s water metering business.
What you will bring:
- Commercial Acumen: A strong track record in developing business cases, assessing markets, and contributing to commercial strategy.
- Business Development Skills: Ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with internal teams, customers, and partners.
- Water Sector Knowledge: An understanding of water utilities, metering technologies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Project & Proposal Expertise: Experience developing strategic responses to RFPs and tenders.
- Analytical Skills: Confidence in interpreting market data, financials, and operational metrics to guide decisions.
- Technology Awareness: Familiarity with smart metering, IoT, and digital infrastructure is highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or another closely related field.
