Your new role

With over 3,000 km of owned and operated fibre infrastructure across metropolitan and regional NSW, we’re one of the state’s most connected and trusted electrical and telecommunications providers. Our fibre network underpins smart cities, telco backbones, data centre connectivity, and digital infrastructure projects that make communities safer, faster, and better connected. We’re now looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in our dark fibre portfolio, focusing on building strong, long-term partnerships with councils and telecommunications providers.

This is more than a sales job — it's a relationship-first, solution-led commercial role that will see you representing a high-value, high-integrity network to some of the most influential stakeholders in the industry.

As our Fibre BDM, you will:

  • Drive new business opportunities for dark fibre services with local government, telecommunications carriers, and infrastructure providers.
  • Develop and manage a strategic pipeline aligned to long-term commercial growth.
  • Build deep partnerships based on trust, transparency and tailored solutions.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles including tender submissions, contract negotiations, and cross-functional delivery planning.
  • Work closely with engineering, delivery, and legal teams to ensure customer needs are met without compromise.
  • Contribute to commercial strategy, pricing insights and product development.

Spark our interest!
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

You’re open, collaborative, and commercially driven, with a strong ability to connect the dots between technical capability and customer needs.

To be successful, you will have skills and experience in the following:

  • Built your experience in business development, account management or infrastructure sales (ideally in telco, utilities, or B2B services) post university studies.
  • A strong understanding of fibre networks, telecommunications infrastructure, or ICT service sales.
  • Proven success navigating long-cycle B2B deals, especially with government or enterprise customers.
  • A natural ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and create commercial outcomes that work for everyone.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

While not essential, candidates able to demonstrate strong experience and genuine interest in the energy sector, particularly in areas such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI), and a holistic understanding of electrical and telecommunications/fibre infrastructure for data centres will be prioritised.
