Your role at Ausgrid

Reporting to the Workshops Manager, the Workshop Technician will have a primary focus in the construction, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of apparatus and other related assets to ensure the safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability for customers of our network assets.

As the Workshop Technician, you will be given an opportunity to elevate your career in a business that revolutionising the world of energy.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Effectively plan work to enable safe and efficient completion to the required standards of quality, cost and time.
  • Work safely near live electrical apparatus and prepare work site and equipment to enable safe completion of work.
  • Manufacturing of components and products required for the network of an intermediate nature, including the manufacturing of protection panels.
  • Conduct fault finding, testing and associated repair work.

You bring with demonstrated experience in the construction, refurbishment, maintenance and repair of network mains and apparatus and associated network equipment. Our Workshop Technician will have demonstrated capability and experience in effectively communicating with others, manage multiple tasks and prioritise work activities.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Qualified Tradesmanship
    • Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent)
  • Class C drivers’ licence.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices, Environmental Guidelines, network standards and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of manual handling techniques
  • Ability to undertake protection panel wiring work in a Workshop based environment
