You will be primarily involved in construction, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of apparatus and other related assets to ensure the safety, reliability, sustainability and affordability for customers of our network assets. Workshops services provides manufacturing services to assist Ausgrid to maintain its network with an ability to provide solutions for items required for the repair of the Network not readily available.  We are seeking a highly capable, electrical trade qualified power worker to effectively plan work to enable safe and efficient completion to the required standards of quality, cost and time.

We are located at our Homebush depot and offer a competitive salary package including 16.5% superannuation and a fortnightly rostered day off in support of work-life balance.

 

Qualifications

Qualified tradesman in:

  • Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent)
  • Class C drivers’ licence.

 

 

Role overview

  • Effectively plan work to enable safe and efficient completion to the required standards of quality, cost and time.
  • Competently use basic hand and power operated power tools and equipment and basic hydraulic and air tools.
  • Use, interpret and apply drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications.
  • Effectively utilise computers and / or mobile devices for the completion of safety and other required documentation.
  • Refurbishment, maintenance and repair of network mains and apparatus and associated equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be directed by your Manager, in line with the Work Level
  • Standards and trade qualifications for this role.
  • Conduct fault finding, testing and associated repair work.
  • Undertake audits, inspections and compliance based documentation as per policies, standards and work instructions.

 

 

Essential Criteria

  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices,
  • WH&S WorkCover – General Induction.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of manual handling techniques.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with others, including customers.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work activities.
  • Proven capability to work effectively independently, within a team or work crew.
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction, refurbishment, maintenance and repair of network mains and
  • apparatus and associated network equipment

 

Desirable 

  • Demonstrated experience in the trade role within the Workshop Services group that complement the services provided to electricity distribution industry.
  • The organisation’s Fundamental Training – eg EEO, Privacy etc.
  • Panel wiring experience
