We’re looking for an experienced Transmission Mains Manager to lead the delivery of critical work across Ausgrid’s transmission network, including capital, maintenance and emergency response activities.

You’ll drive performance and lead end-to-end delivery, championing a strong safety culture and ensuring we deliver good work safely, every time.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead program delivery across transmission mains, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget
  • Champion safety by driving a strong, proactive safety culture and holding teams accountable for “good work safely”
  • Lead and develop teams, coaching frontline leaders and building capability across a large, diverse workforce
  • Optimise performance by managing resources, budgets and delivery outcomes across labour, plant and materials
  • Drive continuous improvement across work practices, systems and operating efficiency
  • Shape the future workforce, contributing to long-term planning and resourcing strategies
  • Partner with stakeholders, managing customer, contractor and internal relationships
  • Provide expert input on transmission assets, projects and third-party works near the network

 

 

What you bring to the role

  • Degree in Engineering or management with extensive experience preferably in utilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in the energy industry including well developed understanding of regulatory frameworks, standards, specifications and Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Proven knowledge and application of safety management systems.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills, demonstrated ability to manage various concurrent priorities.
  • Strong expertise in project management, civil and electrical construction management.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive or personal matters.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams for improved performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships across a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Strong resource, budget and people management and leadership experience together with demonstrated experience in driving substantial reform and change agendas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business aptitude, clear thinking and communication and decision making
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation from the front-line worker to executive management.
