Your new role

We are seeking electrical trade qualified individuals to fill multiple Trainee District Operator roles across Sydney and Wallsend. The successful candidates will complete a 3-year traineeship to become an Ausgrid Class 1 Operator. This is a shift work role, working a 24/7 shift pattern.

 

  • Assist in operating work under the instruction and supervision of an authorised District Operator.
  • Attend and assist in resolving major incidents and hazardous situations.
  • Apply learning to operate and maintain relevant data and communication systems.
  • Liaise with key internal and external contracts such as contractors and other work groups.
  • Applicants will be placed at varying depots throughout the traineeship.

 

 

To obtain a permanent role at the end of your traineeship, it is a requirement you pass all assessments and obtain a Class 1 Operating Authority as part of the trainee program.

  • Qualified Electrician – Cert III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) with experience in an electrical trade role within the electricity distribution or relevant industry.
  • Class C drivers licence.
  • WH&S WorkCover – General Induction.
  • Substantial experience working on/around power networks.
  • Switched on and hardworking individual with a thirst for knowledge.
  • Detailed understanding of the network, powerflow, protection and control systems with regards to switching.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Sound computer skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
