We’re searching for a seasoned Portfolio Manager – Corporate Technology to lead delivery across a diverse portfolio of corporate applications, including ERP, record and content platforms, and Microsoft’s power platform. In this role, you’ll partner with senior leaders and vendors, and lead a team of key project resources including Project Managers and Business Analysts, in line with project needs. You will drive a predictable, disciplined delivery rhythm, in line to approved project capex and opex budgets, and bring clarity, cadence, and confidence to a busy portfolio anticipating risks, enabling decisions, and uplifting ways of working across the team.

 

This role is permanent full time and reports to our Corporate Technology Partner based in Haymarket office (with hybrid working options available).  It is a great opportunity to lead and drive programs of work in an industry that is going through an exciting energy transformation towards net zero.

 

What you’ll do?

  • Own portfolio governance & rhythm: Responsible for effective delivery of the active projects within the portfolio and managing the pipeline.  Run forward‑planned SteerCos, ensure decision‑ready packs, and manage risks and actions.  Works with the business to present and prioritise future corporate technology projects.
  • Leadership of team: Coach and lead Project Managers and Business Analysts on planning, RAID, scope, and stakeholder engagement to drive successful project delivery.
  • Shape scope for success: Co‑lead Business Case submissions , ensuring defined current‑state artefacts, target approach, vendor and resource expectations.
  • Report what matters: Provide concise, executive‑ready updates on portfolio health, forecasts, and key decisions.
  • Manage stakeholders and vendors: Support and enable business and technology partnership, effectively manage expectations, maintain structured operating rhythms, remove blockers, and escalate with evidence.
  • Embed change early: Ensure communications, impacts, readiness, and cutover are built into delivery plans.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify areas to uplift processes and ways of working.

 

 

What you bring to the role

  • PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent certification (Essential)
  • Proven experience leading portfolios or programs across corporate IT or enterprise applications (SAP, Microsoft desirable).
  • Strong governance discipline with the ability to set cadence, drive accountability, and reset behaviours when needed.
  • Commercial and Business Case experience, including shaping discovery scope,coordinating with Procurement and Legal (Essential)and understanding capex and opex implications
  • Executive‑level communication skills, with confidence facilitating and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • A coaching‑focused approach to uplift delivery across diverse project teams.
  • Data‑led reporting capability, interpreting status and forecast insights to articulate portfolio health.
  • Ability to work in a waterfall environment while utilising Agile methodologies where appropriate
  • Ability to work at all levels, including presenting to executive and stepping into project management if requiredA proactive, organised, outcomes‑focused working style.
  • Experience in regulated utilities or critical infrastructure (Desirable).
  • Exposure to external assurance or major program health checks (Desirable).
  • Familiarity with enterprise‑scale change and communications (Desirable).
