Your new role
As Supply Chain Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in the Supply Chain team and be responsible for the Supply Chain catalogue and maintenance of cataloguing standards for all inventory materials and major plant items to streamline tracking and management.
You will be responsible for the quality control of inventory materials received into our warehouses as well as for managing and developing the systems and processes that ensure the quality control of inventory categories. You will support quality control inspection activities at our warehouses by providing engineering expertise, guidance, and advice, helping to ensure that any issues or discrepancies are promptly addressed.
In the event of technical issues arising, you will take the lead in identifying and resolving these issues. This will involve close collaboration with suppliers and key stakeholders in various departments, to find effective solutions.
Your responsibilities will also include developing, maintaining and improving standards and specifications related to supplier packaging and delivery for network equipment and inventory materials with a particular focus on enhancing safety and efficiency across operations.
You will also play a key role in managing inventory and major plant obsolescence reviews, collaborating with stakeholders to gather feedback and minimize the organisation’s holdings of slow-moving and obsolete stock. A critical aspect of this will be working to ensure that the organisation’s inventory remains efficient and aligned with current operational needs. Furthermore, you will manage the acquisition and release of insurance spare inventory during emergencies or critical events, liaising with Logistics and Asset Management & Operations to balance the network's criticality requirements with the optimisation of spare holdings.
