Reporting to the Stakeholder Engagement Manager – HCC REZ, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (HCC REZ), the largest enhancement to Ausgrid’s network in over 25 years. This transformative initiative will enable the transfer of 1 gigawatt of renewable energy by 2028, supporting a reliable and sustainable energy future for the region.
As the Social Licence and Industry Participation Lead, you’ll be responsible for building community trust, fostering inclusive partnerships, and driving local workforce participation across the HCC REZ program. You’ll work closely with community groups, government agencies, training providers, and contractors to ensure Ausgrid’s projects deliver meaningful social and economic outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing social licence strategies and industry participation programs to support major project delivery.
- Leading stakeholder engagement activities, addressing community concerns and building trust.
- Managing partnerships with local governments, Indigenous communities, industry groups, and training organisations.
- Analysing workforce and socio-economic data to inform strategic planning and risk mitigation.
- Overseeing social procurement initiatives, ensuring alignment with Ausgrid’s values and regulatory frameworks.
- Monitoring and reporting on social licence outcomes using agreed KPIs and frameworks.
- Integrating apprenticeships, traineeships, and workforce pathways into project delivery.
- Driving continuous improvement, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and communities.
- Supporting internal capability building in community engagement, cultural competency, and social impact management.

- Significant experience in corporate social responsibility, community relations, or sustainability roles.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and develop community engagement strategies.

- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a focus on shared outcomes.
