Senior Operations Lead

Join a high‑performing team responsible for the stability and resilience of critical SAP and enterprise platforms supporting core business operations. You’ll work closely with onshore and offshore specialists across SAP, ISU, Basis and integration, contributing to key initiatives including S/4HANA upgrades, data archiving, integration modernisation and disaster recovery uplift, while helping ensure platforms remain stable, secure and fit for purpose.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead or participate in project workgroups across the business as required, including production of regular status reports as required
- Conduct safety, compliance and technical investigations as requested by the business utilising appropriate methodology. Document the findings and recommendations and ensure the effectiveness of recommendations in reducing the risk of reoccurrence
- Ensure all investigations are conducted in a timely, professional and confidential manner
- Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives including process and procedure review
- Perform change impact analysis and update relevant compliance policy and procedures accordingly
- Undertake change management of amendments to work practices as a result of document updates, reviews or investigation recommendations
- Support in gathering information for audits as requested
- Scope, develop and implements priority improvement initiatives for Ausgrid, utilising recognised project management methodology and change management strategies
- Prepare business cases as required for productivity improvement initiatives
- Provide relevant, accurate, and comprehensive information on current operational and business processes in order to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be directed by your manager, in line with the Work level standards for this role

Essential Qualifications
- Degree qualifications in engineering or business discipline, or advanced diploma with extensive relevant experience in the Utility Supply Industry
- Demonstrated experience working in the Utility industry
Essential Criteria
- Intermediate computer literacy in SAP, Microsoft Office 365 and other corporate systems
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills
- Established interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Recognised analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Highly evident communication skills both written and oral with a customer focus for service delivery
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Proven high attention to detail and personal initiative
- Ability to exercise a high level of confidentially and discretion when dealing with sensitive or personal matters
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in conducting complex investigations
- Proven experience in liaising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills including ability to undertake research, gather and analyse content and to provide clear analysis findings
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of Ausgrid’s maintenance processes and procedures
- Knowledge of Ausgrid’s investment governance and works management processes and procedures
- Applied knowledge and experience in the application of safety procedures and guidelines, distribution guidelines, network standards, ethical guidelines and Lifesavers
- Experience in using formal investigation processes e.g. ICAM
