Your new role
The Senior Health & Safety Partner will lead Health & Safety (H&S) initiatives, drive cultural improvements, and mentor H&S Partners. This role will support leaders in implementing the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) and enhancing risk management across various operational areas, including Fleet, Warehousing, Engineering, Metering, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Contractor Management and Field Operations.

As a key influencer, you will champion Ausgrid’s ‘Work Safe, Live Safe’ value and work collaboratively to enhance Health & Safety programs, systems, and outcomes. You’ll proactively engage with the business to improve safety accountability, lead meaningful safety conversations, and support leaders in building a strong culture.

 

Your role will involve coaching H&S Partners in conducting incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing effective risk controls. You’ll also guide assurance activities and provide insights to enable targeted safety initiatives. In addition, you’ll drive continuous improvement to align operational delivery with HSMS requirements and enhance overall health and safety performance.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in work, health and safety and/or human factors and/or risk.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Demonstrated experience as a safety professional or advisor in high risk industries.
  • Proven experience and qualifications in undertaking investigations through the use of methodologies such as Incident Casual Analysis Method (ICAM).
  • Proven experience in undertaking assurance activities including Risk Inspections, LoD 1 and LoD2 in field and system audits.
  • Proven experience in the implementation and delivery of safety strategies, policies, frameworks, systems and processes. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety theory and practice across complex multi‐site businesses.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing and coaching a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation.
