Your new role

As a Senior Demand Management Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and driving improved commercial outcomes for network investment. You will achieve this by developing and maintaining expert knowledge of historical and emerging trends in customer energy usage, distributed energy resources, and related factors. Your insights will support demand forecasting and the efficient development of both network and non-network solutions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and delivery of best practice research outcomes to support trials, programs and other research activities
  • Development and implementation of analytical tools and processes to support research efforts
  • Provide expert technical input on matters relating to customers’ use of energy, distributed energy resources and related matters
  • Maintain expert knowledge of solutions, technologies and analytical techniques for the fields of demand management, distributed energy resources, energy forecasting including both historical and future trends
  • Development of innovation trials to address knowledge gaps
  • Support delivery of innovative programs and trials ensuring scope, quality, budget and timing outcomes are achieved

As part of this role, you will also effectively report on research outcomes to communicate key lessons learned to stakeholders and the broader community. You will provide clear, data-driven insights that support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement in demand management and energy solutions.

Fostering collaboration with industry stakeholders to positively influence opinions, regulatory frameworks, and government policy decisions is key for success in this role, as is engaging in meaningful discussions and partnerships that shape the future of energy management.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in engineering or a related technical field, with strong technical and commercial expertise in customer energy use, distributed energy resources and emerging technologies. You will possess excellent analytical skills to assess technical and financial aspects of energy use and technology performance, as well as a solid understanding of demand management and electricity network planning. The role requires extensive project management experience, with the ability to plan, implement, and deliver projects efficiently. To be successful, you will have superior oral and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences and producing high-quality reports and presentations.

You will adaptable, self-driven, and innovative, with the ability to mentor technical specialists and manage internal and external stakeholders effectively. You will demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making and risk management skills, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, along with the ability to influence decision-making across the business and external organisations.
