About the Role

As we continue to strengthen the resilience and security of our critical infrastructure, we're seeking an experienced Security Risk & Services Manager to lead the delivery of physical and personnel security services across Ausgrid.

This position reports to the Head of Security and is a highly visible leadership role where you'll partner with executives, operational leaders, government agencies and service providers to protect our people, assets and critical infrastructure, while ensuring security supports the needs of the business.

This is not an IT or cyber security-focused opportunity. We're seeking a senior security professional with experience in physical, protective or critical infrastructure security environments, capable of influencing at executive level and lead and motivate a high performing team.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading security risk and governance activities across Ausgrid's sites and operations.
  • Developing and enhancing protective security frameworks, policies, service level agreements and standards.
  • Building trusted relationships with executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Managing critical security service providers and contractor performance.
  • Leading security risk assessments, compliance and assurance activities.
  • Providing insightful reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing security team.
  • Working closely with government and law enforcement agencies will be required.

 

You’ll Bring

You'll balance strategic thinking with operational delivery and are a people-focused security leader who knows how to influence, build credibility and drive outcomes in complex environments.

  • Significant experience leading protective security or critical infrastructure security functions.
  • A proven ability to engage, influence and challenge Executive stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership experience with a track record of developing teams.
  • Experience managing vendors, service providers and operational performance.
  • A calm and measured approach in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong commercial, risk management and problem-solving capability.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to translate complex security issues into practical business outcomes.
  • This role will be required to at times work out of hours during incidents.
  • Security Clearance: NV1 clearance and NSW Security Licence class 2A will be required upon commencement.

 

Experience within utilities, transport, aviation, government, critical infrastructure or similar highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
