Your new role

Are you passionate about threat detection, automation, and continuous improvement in the cyber security space? We’re looking for a driven and detail oriented Security Analyst to join our Cyber Security Centre (CSC) team, and play a key role in managing and optimising our threat and vulnerability capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats in real-time.
- Develop, document, and continuously optimise security detection logic, including rules, filters, and correlation routines, to ensure accurate and timely threat identification.
- Design and implement automated routines and tools to streamline data collection, correlation, and threat detection processes.
- Collaborate with both security operations and non-security personnel to support solutions implemented by various projects.
- Stay current with the latest developments in cyber security technologies and validate their impact on CSC capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of CSC playbooks and procedures.
- Deploy and manage security solutions that support rule creation, event correlation, and alerting.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives by gathering, analysing and defining security operations and information security requirements.
- Prepare and present both general and technical briefings on security operations to internal IT and security stakeholders.
- Work in a rostered on-call environment.

We are seeking a capable, pragmatic, performance driven and solutions focussed Analyst, with demonstrated experience in a similar role and tertiary level qualified in either; Business or an IT related discipline.
To be successful, you will also have:
- Proven experience in responding to security incidents and alerts.
- Strong scripting or automation background to streamline security operations.
- Familiarity with SIEM systems, Endpoint Detection & Response tools (EDR), network security monitoring (NSM), firewalls and other security monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with industry-standard incident response methodologies, frameworks, and best practices, including but not limited to NIST & MITRE ATT&CK.
- Strong analytical thinking and technical documentation skills.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a continuous improvement focus.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
