We’re seeking a Regulatory Reset Analyst to play a key role in shaping Ausgrid’s forthcoming regulatory proposal. This position supports the development of high quality financial and regulatory analysis and modelling that meets Australian Energy Regulator (AER) requirements while delivering strong commercial outcomes for the business.

 

Working closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Treasury and Network & Digital teams, senior management, as well as external parties including regulators and consultants, you’ll contribute to regulatory submissions that have a direct impact on Ausgrid’s forecast revenue and long-term business strategy.

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare financial and regulatory analysis for Ausgrid’s standard control services (SCS) and alternative control services (ACS) regulatory proposals
  • Support AER submissions through drafting, stakeholder engagement and consultant coordination
  • Modelling of SCS and ACS regulatory revenues and prices
  • Validate and quality assure inputs to regulatory models
  • Provide regulatory inputs into corporate financial models
  • Prepare revenue data for the Reset Regulatory Information Notice (Reset RIN)
  • Assisting with the development of a databook that will collect the data to be used for Ausgrid’s Regulatory Proposal
  • Collaborate with the Pricing team to support customer impact and forecast revenue analysis
  • Analyse regulatory information to strengthen Ausgrid’s regulatory position.

 

What you bring to the role

You are an analytical and commercially minded professional with a strong interest in regulation, and financial modelling. You enjoy working with complex data and financial models, can translate technical concepts into clear insights, and are comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, ideally including revenue forecasting
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to reconcile data and assumptions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work in a dynamic environment
  • Preferably have knowledge/understanding in Python
  • Preferably have knowledge/understanding of the energy regulatory arrangements.
