We are proud to service Australia’s east coast, as a leading business in energy distribution, delivering a safe and reliable electricity supply to more than 1.8 million homes – that’s over four million Australians relying on us every day.
Our vision is simple; for our communities to have the power in a resilient, affordable and sustainable future.
We take pride in knowing that the work we collectively achieve today, will transform the world tomorrow. We value a culture of working and living safely, being customer focussed, commercially minded, collaborative, honest, accountable, and respectful. Our values are not just initiatives driven by leaders; they define the way we work.
The Team
By joining the regulatory team at Ausgrid, you will be instrumental in driving the energy transition, contributing to exciting projects like the shaping of Ausgrid’s regulatory proposal for the Hunter Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone and supporting innovative trial applications. This dynamic team leads critical policy submissions and oversees Ausgrid’s 5-year regulatory proposal, influencing a $2 billion annual revenue allowance. Here you can make a meaningful impact and help to power a sustainable future.
Your new role
As Regulatory Advisor you will apply research and analysis to help shape Ausgrid’s regulatory strategy. Your work will involve investigating and reporting on issues that intersect policy, financial, economic, legal, and engineering considerations, such as the efficient deployment of community batteries and other innovative technologies. You will be a key contributor to analysis that supports expenditure proposals to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) and providing advice to management on regulatory matters.
There will be opportunities to lead or support policy submissions to the AER, the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), and other regulatory authorities on a range of topics. You will prepare briefings on emerging regulatory issues and their potential impact on Ausgrid’s strategic and commercial priorities. Examples include climate resilience, renewable energy zones, and electric vehicles. You will also contribute to the development of Ausgrid’s industry-leading customer engagement workshops and focus groups by preparing presentation materials.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating projects, including regulatory reporting to the AER. The role also involves assisting in the communication of important regulatory developments and initiatives to Ausgrid’s business units, including the impact of these initiatives. You will work collaboratively and consultatively with internal and external stakeholders to prepare submissions and reports for management approval.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a regulatory advisory role, who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative and complex environment. Attention to detail and demonstrated analytical abilities will ensure the delivery of high-quality work that drives results.
Your sound policy and regulatory expertise, combined with an understanding of key national energy reform issues in the Australian energy market, will empower you to make meaningful contributions to our initiatives. You’ll have the ability to assess the implications of these reforms for regulated network businesses with a strategic mindset.
