As Project Officer, you will contribute to the successful execution of projects and programs that support the performance and reliability of our network. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes through effective planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
You will be responsible for organising and delivering projects in line with Ausgrid’s project management methodologies. You will coordinate all necessary project documentation, including reports, programs, and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our internal standards. A key aspect of the role involves managing project financials and administering outcomes in accordance with Ausgrid’s processes and governance requirements.
You will also manage and maintain project systems and databases, including ensuring appropriate system access and recovery protocols are in place. Your role will include resource coordination, managing personnel, plant, and equipment to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
Collaboration is essential in this position. You will liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, address issues, and ensure that works are completed in line with all relevant standards, codes, and legislation. The role also involves supporting contract and tender processes, encompassing administration, procurement, and implementation aspects of projects.
In addition, you will undertake project risk assessments, audit equipment performance, identify and report on defects, and contribute to project close-out reporting. This is a dynamic opportunity for a candidate with strong project coordination skills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering excellence across infrastructure projects.
What you bring to the role
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude and alignment to our core values.
To be eligible for this role, you will hold an Advanced Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline within the Electrical Supply Industry, along with extensive experience in a similar role. You will bring a proven track record in the management and successful delivery of multiple projects or programs, demonstrating a deep understanding of sound project management principles.
You will possess intermediate computer literacy, particularly in project management systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
A strong knowledge of relevant internal and external statutes, regulations, and procedures is essential, as is the ability to apply these effectively within a project context. Your communication skills, both written and verbal, must be highly developed, with a clear customer focus in service delivery.
We're looking for a professional with established interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll also have strong organisational and time management skills, capable of prioritising effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Additionally, you must have proven experience in the commercial and financial management of projects, along with well-developed analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
A Class C Driver’s Licence is required for this role.
