In this role, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of largescale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, high voltage infrastructure works and contestable grid connections. You’ll bring project plans to life, making sure they translate into safe, reliable and high performing energy assets for our communities. Every decision you make helps ensure our work meets the right technical standards and delivers on what our customers need, today and for the future.
Working with a mix of engineering, civil and electrical teams, you’ll coordinate people and resources across the full project lifecycle. From early design and planning through to construction, commissioning and handover, you’ll keep things moving so milestones are met safely, on time and within budget. Managing the end-to-end delivery of BESS, high voltage and grid connection projects, including design, construction and commissioning.

Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and developing detailed project plans to maximise efficiency and avoid clashes across dependent projects.

Leading project planning sessions, assigning tasks and supporting teams working across multiple project stages.

Preparing and reviewing technical specifications, assessing offers and supporting procurement processes for equipment, contractors and consultants.

Ensuring all works comply with our safety-first approach, environmental obligations, state and national regulations, and relevant standards.

Overseeing governance, reporting and risk frameworks so project costs, milestones and deliverables are tracked clearly and transparently.

Troubleshooting budget, schedule, design and construction issues to keep projects in line with agreed metrics.

Managing contracts effectively, monitoring performance and ensuring deliverables meet requirements and industry standards.
What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management or a related commercial discipline.

Diploma in Project Management (or willingness to undertake further studies to obtain Diploma)

Proven experience managing electrical infrastructure projects such as high voltage BESS and applying a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the electricity supply industry.

Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Primavera and systems, including SAP4Hana.

Perform/write/authorise Network Access Requests (NAR) of a complex nature.

Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.

Superior liaison, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to liaise with and foster effective working relationships and influence and negotiate at project levels.

Recognised analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills including ability to provide advice on projects and electrical engineering issues.

Highly evident communication skills both written and oral with a customer focus for service delivery and experience in drafting advice, reports, submissions and briefing documents.

Advanced leadership capabilities in managing a complex workgroup and delivering a productive and harmonious culture with direct reports.

Proven high attention to detail, personal initiative and accuracy in date entry, including experience in drafting advice, reports, submissions and briefing documents.

Ability to exercise a high level of confidentially and discretion when dealing with sensitive or personal matters.

Well-developed skills and experience in contract administration and understanding of the needs, responsibilities and risks involved with the various roles in engineering contracts.
