As a Product Owner, you'll drive the ongoing evolution of critical customer and enterprise digital platforms that support key customer and business processes across Ausgrid.
You'll work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and delivery partners to define product roadmaps, prioritise enhancements, manage backlogs and ensure our platforms continue to deliver value for customers, employees and the business.
This role goes beyond project delivery. You'll be responsible for the long-term success of your products, developing and communicating product vision, balancing customer needs, business priorities, operational requirements and technology constraints, while driving continuous improvement, adoption and benefits realisation. This includes identifying opportunities to improve customer journeys, business processes and platform performance to deliver measurable value.

Product Owner – Connecting Customers
Lead the ongoing ownership, optimisation and evolution of strategic customer platforms that support critical customer and business processes. You'll define product vision and priorities, establish governance and support practices, drive continuous improvement, and ensure products continue to deliver measurable customer, operational and business value.
A key focus in the near term will be helping transition a major customer platform from program delivery into sustainable business-as-usual operations, providing a unique opportunity to shape its long-term roadmap, governance model and ongoing success.
Product Owner – Customer Experience
Lead a portfolio of customer experience platforms, including CRM, contact centre and digital engagement capabilities. You'll shape product roadmaps, drive customer experience improvements and ensure our platforms continue to deliver measurable business and customer outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Develop and communicate product vision, roadmaps and prioritised backlogs.
- Translate business and customer needs into clear product requirements.
- Partner with business, technology and delivery teams to deliver high-value outcomes.
- Drive adoption, continuous improvement and benefit realisation.
- Monitor platform performance and identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, business processes and operational outcomes.
- Lead prioritisation, governance and investment discussions across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Support the transition of new capabilities into sustainable operational support models.
- Work with vendors, delivery partners and support providers to ensure ongoing platform reliability and value delivery.
What you bring to the role

You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in product management, business, technology, engineering, project delivery or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or similar role with accountability for managing enterprise systems, digital products or complex integrated platforms throughout their lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including roadmap development, backlog management, user story creation, sprint planning, testing, release management and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to translate business and user needs into clear product requirements, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, workflows and operational outcomes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business leaders, operational teams, technology teams, vendors and end users.
- Strong technical literacy and analytical skills, including the ability to understand system architecture, integrations and data, and use insights and performance metrics to inform product decisions and prioritisation.
- Experience driving product adoption, change and benefit realisation, with the ability to operate effectively within complex, regulated environments while considering risk, compliance, security and operational requirements.
- Experience working with technology vendors, implementation partners or managed service providers.
Highly regarded:
- Formal product or Agile certification, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting business-critical systems in the energy, utilities, infrastructure or another regulated sector.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise workflow, service management or customer platforms.
- Change management or change leadership experience, particularly in environments undergoing transformation or system uplift.
