As the Pricing Operations Lead, you will be responsible for managing Ausgrid’s pricing models, calculating prices for large network users, contributing to regulatory submissions and supporting tariff development. You’ll work closely with the Pricing Strategy Lead and other internal stakeholders, and liaise with our regulator to ensure our prices are compliant, data-driven, and recover our allowed revenue.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage, update, and enhance Ausgrid’s network pricing models for the annual pricing proposals, five-year revenue proposals, and other regulatory submissions.
- Calculate network prices for residential, small businesses and large users such as data centres, utility-scale batteries.
- Analyse tariff strategies and customer impacts in collaboration with the Pricing Strategy Lead.
- Manage annual billing system updates.
- Lead the implementation of tariffs into internal systems, working closely with the Billing team to ensure operational readiness and accurate application.
- Respond to pricing enquiries from internal teams and large customers.
- Prepare internal and external presentations on network pricing.
- Liaise with asset planners to gather data inputs for regulatory purposes.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electricity Law, National Electricity Rules, and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) guidelines.
- Draft and review reports, submissions, and stakeholder communications.
- Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies including the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), AEMO, and Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART).
What you bring to the role

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong mix of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and stakeholder engagement skills. You will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive experience in network pricing policy and operations.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence outcomes, and build strong relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex analyses for senior stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills .
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders while building effective relationships across multiple teams.
- Proficiency in Python for modelling and data analysis is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework affecting regulated pricing in the electricity distribution industry and/or broader energy sector would be desirable.
