We’re looking for a strong technical leader to guide a specialised team within our Network Test & Measurement Services function. In this role, you will lead a team of 20 Engineering Officers and a Project Officer, delivering network testing services that directly support network safety, reliability and performance. The role is based at our Homebush Depot.
You will provide hands‑on leadership, ensure operational discipline, maintain critical test equipment, and support Ausgrid during network faults, emergencies and after‑hours events. This role is ideal for someone who can balance technical depth with mature stakeholder engagement and effective people leadership.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a specialised team delivering services including High Voltage testing, cable fault location and non-invasive testing/inspection
- Coordinating and overseeing daily work activities, including validating schedules, allocating resources and supporting on site operations
- Engaging with customers, internal and external stakeholders, and delivery teams to share critical information, resolve issues and ensure the smooth delivery of testing services
- Ensuring test equipment is maintained, calibrated and compliant with standards
- Providing technical advice on network testing, equipment, standards and investigations
- Supporting the development, refinement and continuous improvement of technical work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Supporting the introduction of new technologies and methodologies
- Managing safety, compliance and team performance, including audits, competency verification, documentation and capability development

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:
- Degree or Advance Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- A leadership style grounded in accountability, safety and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience leading technical or field based operational teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Sound judgement and resilience in high pressure or emergency situations
- A solid understanding of network testing services, NATA requirements and quality systems
