As our Performance & Capability Specialist, you’ll lead the design, execution and continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide performance cycle, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and drives capability uplift across our diverse workforce. You’ll be the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to business leaders on all thing’s performance, helping to shape a culture where feedback, development and achievement thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and own the annual performance cycle, partnering closely with People Partners to deliver a seamless, compliant and meaningful experience for employees and leaders.
- Design, implement and enhance performance policies, frameworks and standards that drive accountability and engagement.
- Partner with the business as the primary point of contact for all performance matters, while upskilling our PeopleHub team to build confidence and capability in performance support.
- Use insights and data to monitor trends, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend practical solutions.
- Collaborate with Remuneration to embed the Company Scorecard and ensure alignment between individual objectives and enterprise strategy.
- Build capability across leaders and teams through training, resources and tools that strengthen performance conversations, goal setting and development planning.
- Lead projects and diagnostics to evolve performance frameworks and approaches, ensuring they reflect changing business needs and future workforce requirements.
- Analyse capability gaps and design targeted initiatives to close them, enabling a high-performance culture.
- Engage and influence stakeholders to drive adoption, alignment and continuous improvement across all performance initiatives.
What you bring to the role

To be successful, you’ll bring a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Business or a related field, supported by demonstrated experience across performance management, organisational development or capability-building roles. With a proven track record in designing and implementing performance frameworks within large or complex organisations, you understand how to balance strategic intent with practical delivery.
Your strong understanding of Enterprise Agreements and the dynamics of unionised environments enables you to navigate complex people matters with confidence and care. You’re a skilled communicator who builds trusted relationships at all levels, with exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills that help translate strategy into meaningful action.
Analytically minded, you’re comfortable working with dashboards and data to generate insights, identify trends and inform decisions that drive improvement. You’ll also bring strong project management capabilities, taking ownership from concept through to implementation while maintaining a clear focus on outcomes. Above all, you’re passionate about uplifting capability, enabling leaders and fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance across the organisation.
Those with experience in the energy sector, public service or government environments, or within blue-collar workforces will be highly regarded, particularly those who have designed and implemented performance or capability frameworks and successfully embedded strategic tools such as scorecards to drive organisational alignment and performance.
