Your new role
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced leader to head up our Network Test & Measurement teams. Reporting to the Head of Transmission and Services, this role is all about ensuring the safe, reliable, and high-quality delivery of electrical energy to our customers. You’ll be at the forefront of specialised network and equipment testing and calibration services and play a key role in keeping the lights on—literally!
What you’ll be doing
- Leading a team of experts in cable fault detection, high voltage testing, infrared scanning, oil analysis, and more.
- Managing testing facilities and labs across multiple sites, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards.
- Maintaining NATA accreditation and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Providing technical advice and strategic input on workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Managing stakeholder relationships, handling customer feedback, and resolving issues.
- Overseeing budgets and aligning operations with financial, safety, and delivery targets.
- Identifying performance gaps and implementing improvements.
- Mitigating legal, safety, environmental, and financial risks.

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Business Management or Advanced Diploma supported by extensive experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in the energy industry including well developed understanding of regulatory frameworks, testing principles and standards, specifications and the Electrical Safety Rules.
- Experience and understanding of the use of power system equipment, the operation of test plant and the design of testing circuits and equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the testing and specification standards for power system equipment.
- Proven knowledge and application of quality and safety management systems.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Strong systems and quality process skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams for improved performance.
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships across a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Strong resource, budget, contract, people management and leadership experience together with demonstrated experience in driving substantial reform and change agendas.
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation from the front-line worker to executive management.
- Industrial relations experience at an operating level in a highly industrialised environment.
