About Ausgrid – we’re wired for good

We’re the largest distributer of electricity on Australia’s east coast, which means over two million homes and businesses rely on our good work. We’re here at the heart of the energy transition, and we’re driven by a powerful purpose to make electricity accessible for all.

It’s an exciting new chapter for our company with each day bringing a renewed energy to how we deliver, store and use electricity. As we continue to grow, we’re in search of exceptional talent to help us achieve our goals.

Everyone’s job is important here. Our customers come from all walks of life, and so do we. We’re committed to fostering a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace, and encourage applications from all backgrounds.

See yourself working here

As an L&D Partner, you’ll work closely with the business to build the skills, knowledge, and confidence our people need to do their jobs safely, efficiently, and with pride. You will be right at the heart of shaping how we learn and grow at Ausgrid.

You’ll partner with stakeholders across the business to understand what’s needed and create learning that really hits the mark. Whether it's designing a hands-on technical program or rolling out an engaging eLearning module, you will create a culture where continuous learning is owned by the business and championed by leaders - ensuring our training is practical, relevant, and keeps safety front and centre.

You’ll also support the development of the Competence Management Framework by helping collate and align policies, procedures and competence matrices, contributing to a governance model that meets organisational, regulatory and industry standards through a risk-based training needs approach.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious about what’s next. Ideally, you’ll bring experience in emerging or new learning technologies, whether that’s immersive learning, AI-driven platforms, or innovative digital tools, to help us stay ahead of the curve and deliver learning that’s future-fit.

  • Build strong relationships with leaders, listen to their needs, and co-create learning solutions that solve real problems.
  • Whether it’s a toolbox session or a formal program, your focus is on delivering practical, engaging learning that improves how we work and keeps our people safe.
  • You’ll have the freedom to be creative and proactive, but always with a clear line of sight to safety, compliance, and business outcomes.
  • Looking ahead, adapting quickly, and designing learning for what’s coming next, not just what’s needed now.
  • Help shape a workplace where learning happens every day, and where curiosity, confidence, and continuous improvement are encouraged.

What you bring to the role

We’re here to do meaningful things, and our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience in learning and development.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (completed or currently underway).
  • Strong background in technical training, ideally with experience in Electricity, Transport, or Construction sectors.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, with the ability to create practical, high-impact learning solutions.
  • Advanced skills in eLearning design, particularly using Articulate 360 and other modern digital tools.
  • A solid understanding of the RTO/VET landscape, with practical knowledge of compliance and training delivery standards.
  • Good grasp of safety management systems and how learning can support safe, compliant operations.
  • Strong project management capability, you can plan, deliver, and keep things on track with minimal fuss.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, you know how to juggle competing needs without dropping the ball.
  • Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Clear, confident communicator with a collaborative, customer-focused approach, great at building trust and strong relationships.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
