Your new role

As Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing infrastructure support to the Control System Operational Technology (OT) environment, ensuring the ongoing secure and efficient operation of current systems. Reporting to the Manager OT Operations, this role requires close collaboration with a variety of key business groups, including Ausgrid’s Control Room, Network Security, Model Management teams, and Control System Solutions.

Working in this dynamic environment, you will be at the forefront of maintaining system availability targets while driving improvements in the performance and reliability of the infrastructure. A key focus of the role will be ADMS-specific support, working closely with managed support vendor staff to ensure seamless operation. In addition to maintaining system uptime, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of ADMS operations to provide technical leadership on initiatives designed to enhance the system's capabilities. This will directly contribute to better outcomes for the business, helping to drive continuous improvements across the board. The position demands strong, collaborative relationships with teams such as SCADA Operations, Control System Solutions, Operational Support Systems, and the Network and Security Operations Centres.

Day to day, this role will see you:

  • Provide Level 1 and 2 support for ADMS back-end and user-facing applications, ensuring swift issue resolution.
  • Coordinate ADMS resilience activities, including system failover exercises.
  • Serve as SME for OT system business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Use ITIL management systems to track and update support activity status.
  • Proactively monitor ADMS, identifying and resolving emerging issues.
  • Respond to stakeholder incidents, fulfilling service requests (e.g., access provisioning/removal).
  • Lead or assist in resolving identified problems and seek change approval from the OT Change Approval Board.
  • Apply patches, upgrade software, and deploy anti-virus definitions as needed.
  • Manage backup tapes with off-site data archive vendor.
  • Maintain system documentation (e.g., IPAM, CMDB) and contribute to knowledge base for best practices.
  • Support investigations and troubleshooting of Control System-related failures.
