Salary: $126k-$149k base+ 16.5% super and fortnightly RDO

Job Overview

We have multiple opportunities available across our Sydney East and Sydney West Field Delivery teams. 

At Ausgrid, we're powering the future of energy while maintaining one of Australia's largest electricity distribution networks. As we continue to invest in network reliability, safety and customer outcomes, we are seeking multiple motivated and collaborative Engineering Officer to join our Distribution Network Delivery team. 

This role is ideal for a Project Officer, Project Engineer, Project Coordinator or Delivery Coordinator looking to apply their skills in a challenging infrastructure environment. We welcome candidates from industries including utilities, construction, telecommunications, rail, transport, mining, defence, manufacturing, local government and infrastructure projects, where strong project management fundamentals and stakeholder engagement are key to success. 

 

The Opportunity 

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating and supporting the delivery of network maintenance, breakdown response and capital works programs across Ausgrid's distribution network. 

You will act as the vital link between office-based planning teams and field-based delivery crews, ensuring work is thoroughly planned, resourced, documented and ready for safe execution. 

Success in this role comes from your ability to build strong relationships, coordinate multiple workstreams, solve problems, and work collaboratively with engineers, field supervisors, contractors and stakeholders to achieve delivery outcomes. 

 

What You'll Do 

  • Coordinate and manage a portfolio of maintenance, operational and capital works projects. 
  • Work closely with Engineers, Project Delivery Officers and Field Supervisors to plan and prepare work for delivery. 
  • Conduct desktop assessments, site visits and stakeholder consultations to support project planning activities. 
  • Develop work packages, schedules, resource requirements and delivery documentation. 
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. 
  • Monitor project progress, risks, costs and delivery performance. 
  • Build strong working relationships between office-based teams and frontline field crews. 
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to support successful project outcomes. 
  • Engage with contractors, service providers and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain delivery momentum. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning, scheduling and delivery performance. 

 

What We're Looking For 

You don't need to come from the electrical industry to be successful in this role. We are looking for people with strong project coordination and delivery experience who can bring proven transferable skills and a collaborative mindset. 

 

Project Management Fundamentals 

  • Experience planning, coordinating and delivering projects or programs of work in a complex operational environment. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Experience monitoring project schedules, budgets, risks and resources. 
  • Ability to problem-solve, adapt and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment. 
  • Experience preparing project plans, work packages, reports and delivery documentation. 

 

Relationship Building & Collaboration 

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across multiple teams and functions. 
  • Experience coordinating activities between operational, technical and delivery teams. 
  • A collaborative approach with a passion for working as part of an integrated team. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with contractors, customers and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. 

 

Team Integration & Delivery Focus 

  • Experience supporting field-based or operational workforces through effective planning and coordination. 
  • Ability to bridge the gap between strategic planning and frontline execution. 
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, safety and operational excellence. 
  • A proactive approach to identifying and removing barriers to delivery success. 

 

Technical & Professional Experience 

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Infrastructure Delivery or a related discipline. 
  • Relevant experience in project coordination, project engineering, delivery management or operational planning. 
  • Strong computer literacy and experience using project, scheduling and business management systems. 
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
