Reporting to the Portfolio Manager the Engineering Officer / Engineer will work with a team of Engineers, Engineering Officers and Project Delivery Officers to plan maintenance, breakdowns and construction on Ausgrid’s Distribution network, which includes overhead, underground and substations work on 415V/11kV.
 

You will undertake desktop analysis of assigned work, site visits and discussion with Field Supervisors / Leading Hands, Job Planning which includes, preparation of Network Access Requests (NARs), Job Packs, Resource Requests, NECF and booking associated external resources. The Engineering Officer/Engineer manages internal and external stakeholder relationships and provides quality job documentation to field teams to ensure the safe delivery of work for the continued reliable operation of Ausgrid’s network.

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

 

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in an electrical or relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent).
  • Proven significant experience and technical expertise gained in a relevant trade; or experience in an engineering related or technical role; within the electricity distribution or relevant industry.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking or managing multiple tasks and / or projects and prioritising activities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment to effectively deliver projects or work outcomes within appropriate time frames and costs.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including the resolution of complex complaints / issues.
  • Experience in monitoring costs and financial impacts across work activities, projects or programs of work.
  • Advanced computer skills with experience in a variety of software packages, tools, hardware or general applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of both written and system based project / work activity documentation.
  • Proven experience in problem solving and the identification or implementation of solutions.
