As an Engineer supporting Ausgrid’s grid-scale BESS portfolio, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. You’ll contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex engineering projects that integrate battery storage with Ausgrid’s network infrastructure.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Supporting engineering activities to optimise network performance and reliability.
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of BESS-related infrastructure including HV connections, metering, and civil works.
  • Undertaking engineering studies, risk assessments, and technical investigations.
  • Preparing scopes, estimates, reports, and design packages for BESS projects.
  • Managing project elements including procurement, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
  • Providing technical advice and mentoring across functions.
  • Supporting innovation and continuous improvement in BESS design and delivery.

 

 

What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

 

  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline and eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.
  • Proven experience in engineering roles within electricity distribution or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of HV infrastructure, network standards, and safe working practices.
  • Experience in project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and technical problem solving.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and systems, including CAD and MS Office.
  • Class C driver’s licence.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Experience in grid-scale BESS projects or renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Electrical Safety Rules accreditation.
  • Experience in contract management and procurement.
