Energise your career as part of the Safety, Delivery & Operations Group in a pivotal role, ensuring the safety and reliability of our network for our customers. You will be joining a multi-functional team that work closely together in all aspects of maintaining the Transmission and distribution network across in the Sydney Basin.
Your new role
As the Electricity Supply Operative, you will have a vital role in providing general services to support the construction, maintenance and breakdown work of the organisation’s property and network assets. You will prepare work sites and equipment to enable the wider team to perform safe completion of works, participating in emergency restoration work, safely operating plant, machinery, equipment, and vehicles and acting as a safety observer for activities on or around the network.
Reporting to the Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:
- Ground services for primarily Overhead Transmission crews and general labouring tasks.
- Safely operate plant, machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
- Crane and plant operation (borer, bobcat, excavator, cable winch trucks, truck driving).
- Participate in emergency restoration work and on call rosters.
- Safely operate various plant associated with utility works such as wire winder, pole borer/erector, VLC, and excavation equipment (Skid Steer, Excavator, Front End Loader)
- Undertake logistics and material handling utilising Tippers, Crane Trucks and Pole Jinkers (up to HC).
Those with the Following qualifications or experience are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Cert II in Transmission Line Construction
- Advanced Rigging
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Hold safety as a priority with a proven capability to work effectively within a team or work crew.
- High attention to detail & strong time management skills.
- Class MR, HR, or HC drivers licence.
- High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) – multiple e.g. dogging, forklift, mobile crane.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of plant and equipment.
- Competence in the use of various hand, power operated and specialised tools.
- Asbestos awareness and understanding of how to work safely with asbestos materials.
