Energise your career as part of the Safety, Delivery & Operations Group in a pivotal role, ensuring the safety and reliability of our network for our customers. You will be joining a multi-functional team that work closely together in all aspects of maintaining the distribution network in the Mount Kuring-Gai OR Sydney CBD area.

 

Your new role

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Electricity Supply Operative will have a vital role in providing general services to support the construction, maintenance and breakdown work of the organisation’s property and network assets. You will prepare work sites and equipment to enable the wider team to perform safe completion of works, participating in emergency restoration work, safely operating plant, machinery, equipment and vehicles and acting as a safety observer for activities on or around the network.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Groundman services for line crews and general labouring tasks to assist the crew
  • Crane and plant operation (bobcat, excavator, cable winch trucks, truck driving
  • Participate in emergency restoration work and on call rosters.

We are looking for someone who holds safety as a priority with a proven capability to work effectively within a team or work crew. You are a people person and a team player with high attention to detail & strong time management skills. 

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in: 

  • High Risk Work Licences (HRWL) – multiple e.g., dogging, forklift, mobile crane
  • Class MR drivers licence
  • Sound knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, and procedures such as safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice
  • WH&S WorkCover – General Induction
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of plant and equipment
  • Competence in the use of various hand, power operated and specialised tools
  • Asbestos awareness and understanding of how to work safely with asbestos materials
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of safe manual handling techniques
  • Basic skills in the use of computers and mobile devices
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with others
  • Competency in use of various hand, power operated and specialised tool
