As Contract Manager in our Transmission Development & Growth team, you’ll drive the day to day management of high-value contracts across major projects like the Hunter Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (HCC REZ) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

You’ll be responsible for contract execution, governance and performance, working closely with tier-one contractors and suppliers to drive outcomes, manage risk and ensure compliance. From negotiating terms to resolving disputes, your work will directly influence how we deliver infrastructure that powers communities today and tomorrow.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, builds strong relationships, and brings a sharp eye for detail and strategy. You’ll champion continuous improvement and play a key part in Ausgrid’s energy transition journey.

 

  • Administer and oversee contract performance, variations, and claims to ensure budget, schedule, and quality adherence.
  • Draft, develop and issue contract notices and correspondence for key subcontracts.
  • Manage monthly payment claims and change control processes.
  • Lead dispute resolution and claims management, collaborating with legal and commercial teams.
  • Strategically engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues and drive collaboration.
  • Enforce compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards, including NEC, FIDIC, GC21.



What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

 

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Law, Contract Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in managing and administering contracts in excess of $100m for large-scale, high-value infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise with major contract forms (e.g. AS4000, NEC4, FIDIC, GC21).
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management systems, document control, and Microsoft Office.
  • Deep understanding of risk, compliance, and performance monitoring frameworks.
