Your new role

The Connections Partnership Development Lead is responsible for designing and developing customer connection strategies across key industry segments, ensuring alignment with Ausgrid’s broader electrification ambitions. This is a pivotal, newly established role that bridges strategy, partnerships, and customer insights to drive smart, sustainable connections.

You will work closely with senior leaders, major customers, industry partners and government stakeholders to support the capacity and planning needs of customers as they electrify and adopt greater levels of Customer Energy Resources (CER).

 

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Develop and lead Ausgrid’s customer connections strategy in line with broader electrification objectives.
  • Create and execute comprehensive segment-based strategies to support current and future connection and electrification demands.
  • Lead market intelligence activities, including customer research, market soundings, surveys, and trend analysis to inform and validate strategies.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with senior external stakeholders across government and industry to inform our strategic direction.
  • Craft compelling communications and presentations for internal and external audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Identify and support opportunities for contestable services and other value-added offerings.
  • Contribute to the evolution of connection-related policies, processes, and contractual frameworks.
  • Translate complex industry data and trends into actionable strategic insights for senior decision-makers.

Strong analytical capabilities are a must! You’ll be able to interpret complex information and translate insights into practical strategies. You’ll also have experience leading the management of major customer and stakeholder relationships, enhancing the organisation’s reputation and supporting positive engagement with community, industry, and government stakeholders.

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce or Economics, or another closely related discipline. 
  • Class C Drivers licence.
  • Understanding of policies in relation to Customer Connections and experience in implementing policy decisions independently.
  • Advanced computer skills with experience in enterprise systems, word processing, database/spreadsheet, presentation, and project management applications.
