Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning and Development, the Competence Management Framework Specialist will lead the charge in building a smarter, sharper, and more consistent approach to employee competence across Ausgrid.

This isn’t just another policy role, it’s your chance to design and drive a framework that brings together training, assessment, learning programs, and certification into one powerful system. You’ll be the go-to expert for creating clarity around competence, competency, and capability, and making sure our people have what they need to succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and unify policies, processes, and systems that support role-specific training and assessment.
  • Identify what’s missing and create the documentation to make it whole, from procedures to governance models.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement through smart learning program management and trainer development.
  • Clarify what competence really means and ensure it is consistently applied across the business.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to shape how we manage learning, course delivery, trainer certification, and more.
  • Create RASCI models and risk-based training needs analyses to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure everything fits with organisational, regulatory, and industry standards, including RTO requirements.

Spark our interest!

Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in training, learning and development, organisational development or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing capability and/or competency frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
