Your new role


At Ausgrid, we’re committed to powering a more resilient, sustainable future for the communities we serve. As climate impacts intensify, strong partnerships and meaningful engagement are critical. We’re now looking for an experienced Resilience Interface Manager to lead stakeholder relationships and help deliver our climate resilience strategy across our network.

This is an influential, outward‑facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of policy, community, and infrastructure and who wants to see strategy turn into real, on‑the‑ground outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time role and can be based across Sydney / Newcastle locations.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain professional, trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder network, including internal teams, local councils, government agencies, industry bodies, community groups, and customer advocacy organisations.
  • Facilitate and manage business partnering and data sharing arrangements with key stakeholders, translating local resilience planning into practical, measurable outcomes and deliverables.
  • Manage and develop locally based Community Resilience Liaison (1-2 FTE) to deliver on-going community engagement program
  • Plan and contribute to customer advocate consultation and engagement activities such as workshops, presentations, webinars, and teleconferences.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross‑functional teams to ensure a coordinated and consistent engagement and regulatory approach across local areas.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of political and policy issues and regulatory or community challenges relevant to climate resilience and the energy sector.
  • Attend and actively participate in council, community, and industry forums and events, ensuring stakeholder insights inform the delivery of the climate resilience strategy.

 

What you’ll bring

Essential experience and capabilities

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, political science, business, social sciences, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, account management, community engagement, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with executives, senior leaders, community members, and external partners.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with experience managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience working in the energy sector, Government or similar environments, particularly across climate change, resilience, renewable energy, or net zero initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well developed analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts or partnership agreements.
  • Advanced proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A self‑motivated approach, with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
