See yourself working here

As Battery Operations Officer, you will be the central coordination point for a fast-moving and high-impact business unit. Reporting to the Asset Performance Manager, you will primarily support the team's operational demands associated with our growing Battery fleet, while also providing support across commercial, project development, commissioning, and community engagement functions.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide high-level operational support to the Asset Performance Manager and broader battery team.
  • Actively monitor and support battery program activities across commercial, development, commissioning, and operations—ensuring alignment, continuity, and timely issue resolution.
  • Prepare high-quality, professional documentation—from presentations, reports, contractual notices, to operational briefing notes, meeting minutes and actions—enabling delivery to executives, senior leaders, commercial partners, and suppliers, ensuring messaging is timely, accurate, and aligned with commercial contract obligations.
  • Facilitate team purchasing, reconciling invoices against field activity and executed agreements, and escalating anomalies or inefficiencies for resolution within Ausgrid’s SAP platform.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking operational budget expenditure to support cost control and financial reporting across business unit activities.
  • Create and issue field service tickets, monitor ticket status, SLAs, and service provider compliance data.
  • Assist in maintaining asset interruption logs and monthly reports.
  • Maintain customer engagement and communication records in Ausgrid’s CRM platform, ensuring visibility, consistency, and traceability across the battery program.
  • Lead compliance and quality initiatives by driving and maintaining high-standard documentation processes across the business unit, supporting ISO 9001 audit readiness.
  • Support the implementation of system and workflow improvements by engaging with internal teams and external vendors to embed enhancements into business-as-usual operations.
  • Facilitate internal coordination by managing team action registers, supporting shared inboxes and calendars, assisting with onboarding processes, and coordinating internal meetings and collaboration activities.
  • Coordinate external engagements such as stakeholder meetings, site visits, community events, and battery asset launches.
  • Support asset management activities in alignment with Asset Management Plans by using operational systems (including SAP) to ensure warranty compliance, facilitate warranty claims, and uphold structured asset lifecycle governance.

What you bring to the role

Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude and alignment to our core values.

You’re a detail driven operations professional with a passion for everything you do. You thrive in dynamic environments and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to your daily work. You’re quick to spot issues, propose practical solutions, and take decisive action to get things done.

You’ll also bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations coordination, business unit support, executive assistance, or project coordination roles, ideally within energy, infrastructure, engineering, or other technically oriented environments.
  • Extensive experience in general finance and business systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI).
  • Ability to analyse and present data clearly and effectively.
  • Understanding of WHS principles and compliance requirements.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management principles.
