As a BESS Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of Ausgrid’s energy innovation. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver optimal technical solutions across our BESS portfolio. Your work will span:

  • Technical leadership in metering, HV connection, civil construction, and BESS layout and performance.
  • Specification and sourcing of HV, MW, protection, and BESS equipment.
  • Risk management and strategic planning to ensure project viability.
  • Integration of commercial and regulatory considerations into technical development.
  • Stakeholder engagement to align projects with Ausgrid’s strategic goals.
  • Contribution to regulatory engagement and grant funding opportunities.
  • Establishment of consistent standards and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
  • Supplier contract management and governance adherence.
  • Delivery of executive-level reporting and presentations.




What you bring to the role

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in grid-scale BESS development, design, construction, and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage network infrastructure.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to drive consensus among technical specialists.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience as Owners Engineer or Chief Engineer in grid-scale BESS or large-scale renewable energy projects.
